1966 Fender Jaguar

1966 Fender Jaguar with neck date of late '66. I bought this from ATB guitars.

This is a 1966 fender Jaguar in a very faded Lake Placid Blue. You can see the original unfaded colour under the pickguard in the gallery and it has heavy checking all over and some paint cracking off the lower section.

I like to think it is a survivor of a helicopter crash in Vietnam. It's seen stuff, man. And things...

Post CBS with F plate, block inlays and binding, the neck is unusual as it is quite Gibson like in its large rounded C shape.

I popped in some new foam under the neck pickup too as the original looked like a mummified cat's paw.

This might be the best sounding Jaguar I have played to be honest and it has had the Staytrem treatment for reasons of playability. A vintage mute was purchased and foam added and has had some fret work done too in addition to a new nut.

I am putting this up for sale. Not because it's not great but I have a project to try and reach the amount of money required to buy a pre CBS Stratocaster. Quite a lot of money it seems so some great guitars will have to go. This is one. A very desirable custom colour with all the vintage vibe you would want plus a guitar that plays perfectly and stays in tune without fail. It has a nice full neck which is typical of these mid '60's Jaguars.

My one has seen some life and some paint has been lost to the butt end but I think this only adds to the whole vibe.

It has checking and greening of the Lake Placid finish as can be seen with the guard off as it is still blue underneath. It comes in a modern but era correct Fender G&G black case with Fender logo and I have the original bridge and vibrato arm inside as I have replaced them with a Staytrem bridge and arm as these make the Jaguar play perfectly.

This one plays beautifully all up the neck and stays in tune uncannily well even with quite vicious whammy action. It has been re fretted at some point and I have had the nut replaced to make it play to perfection.

I am looking for £7000 for this.
